April is Fair Housing Month
This is the 40th Anniversary year of the Fair Housing Act. President Lyndon Johnson urged congressional approval of the Fair Housing Act just one week after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He felt it an appropriate tribute to Dr. King's legacy, and the Fair Housing Act was signed into law on April 11, 1968.
